IN-MI

Shahadah is the beginning, not the finish line.

IN-MI helps new Muslims after they take Shahadah. We start with your first day, and beyond.

Built by someone who knows the journey

IN-MI was established by Imam Samir Ismail, well known as Uncle Samir. He is a Revert Imam who has spent decades specializing in teaching, guiding, and walking alongside new Muslims.

Accepting Islam is about more than learning information. It is about learning how to live Islam day by day, while having people beside you who understand the challenges, the questions, and the changes that can come with your new journey.

That is why IN-MI is about more than courses and information. We are building a place for teaching, mentorship, companionship, and continued support, drawing upon nearly five decades of experience from Uncle Samir and others who have spent years teaching, guiding, and supporting new Muslim Reverts. Our goal is to help new Muslims not only learn Islam, but gradually get Islam IN-U and make it a living part of their everyday lives.

IN-MI's work with new Muslims is not new, but we are entering a new stage of growth. While much of our earlier work focused on new Muslims in North America, we have come to recognize that Reverts around the world often face many of the same challenges after accepting Islam. As Islam continues to grow globally, IN-MI is expanding its reach as well. This new website is part of that effort. It makes our resources more accessible and builds a stronger online home for new Muslims wherever they may be.

What you see here today is only the beginning. As IN-MI continues to grow, so will the resources, programs, mentors, teachers, and community available here to support your journey.

If you're new to Islam, you're not just visiting another website. You're in a place built for YOU, by one of YOU. And we want YOU to be a part of us.

Imam (Uncle) Samir Ismail

Uncle Samir has taught new Muslims in Maryland for years. He started IN-MI because many people take Shahadah, get congratulated, and are then left to learn Islam alone. IN-MI teaches from the Qur'an and Sunnah, the first three generations of Muslims, and the four Sunni schools.
